RECURVE Piezo Actuator

Starboard is working with researchers at the University of Michigan (UM) to develop the Recurve piezoelectric actuator. Under DARPA funding the actuator is being developed to improving the accuracy of sniper rifles for the Army. Starboard fabricated a prototype actuator for the Phase I program.UM's actuator concept uses a stack of piezoceramic bimorph actuators to amplify displacements, enabling a larger stroke device.
