HERITAGE

Starboard was founded by alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Duke University with a keen eye on engineering innovation. All of Starboard's team members come from entrepreneurial backgrounds and thrive at solving the most challenging design problems facing industry today. With expertise in smart materials and composite technologies and roots in the aeronautics and petrochemical sectors, Starboard has expanded its offerings to serve all industries with mechanical engineering requirements.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Starboard believes that being a good neighbor is good business. Therefore Starboard personnel stay very active in local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, professional societies such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), as well as local education providers from junior high school to the university level. Through such activities as teaching short courses, judging science fairs, and presenting to professional societies, Starboard team members volunteer in ways that uniquely correlate with their expertise. Starboard also participates on a national level with ASME and AIAA by serving on technical committees, reviewing abstracts for conferences and journals, presenting conference papers,and leading regional student conferences aimed at inspiring the next generation of engineers.
